ABOUT US

Lines North Railroad Equipment restores, leases, and operates historic railroad equipment. The company seeks to offer tourist railroads low cost solutions for additional capacity.

Lines North LLC was founded in 2023 with the intention of restoring Erie Lackawanna MU 3501 to operation.

RXCX 105

In 2023 Lines North acquired its first piece of rolling stock, Erie Lackawanna MU 3501, now RXCX 105. The coach is currently being restored to operational condition in Southern Indiana.

The 105 has a long history in regular service with the Delaware Lackawanna and Western Railroad, the Erie Lackawanna Railroad, Conrail, and New Jersey Transit. Retired in 1984, the 105 was purchased by the Horseshoe Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society in Altoona, PA and was later sold to the Everett Railroad in Duncansville, PA.

Lines North intends to have RXCX 105 restored and available for lease by autumn 2025. The coach will seat over 60 passengers with a combination of traditional walkover and lounge style seating. 105 is currently equipped with tight lock H couplers, ABDW brake valves, rubber tube diaphragms, a restroom, and open windows. After restoration the car will feature fans and a 120v generator. The 105 will be upgraded to standard 480v HEP and electric heat if requested by a lease customer.
